Agnes Vasti Reus, age 80, of Lucedale passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025 at USA Medical of Mobile, AL.  Mrs. Reus was born July 20,1945 in Lucedale, MS. She is the daughter of the late Ralph and the late Semyra Elmyra (Finch) Hembree.  She married Gregory A. Reus on July 3, 1981.

Vasti was known for her honesty, resilience, and compassion, all while making sure that the people around her found the joy in life. She poured out unconditional love, understanding and acceptance within her family and friends. She took pride in her work raising her children and grandchildren.

Happiness radiated from her to see all of the accomplishments of each and every one of them. Vasti's love for Greg set an example for all of her children and grandchildren's marriages—a love so deep that it could move mountains over 44 years.

She was full of rich knowledge about life, love and even hardships that life brought. Life brought Vasti the joy of raising children, the loss of children, watching children move away and return home to beaming with pride for each and every accomplishment of all children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her advice was one of a kind, the kind that gave you direction when you thought you were completely lost, and that one of a kind knowledge will be forever cherished.

Vasti loved anything and everything Elvis, spending time anywhere on the river, especially on the houseboat, camping with friends, and swinging on her front porch swing with a cup of coffee or a coca cola. That front porch was always full of love and laughter, shared and multiplied, between every generation. She loved a full house. Even all the bickering it brought gave that very house a certain kind of warmth you couldn't find anywhere else. It's the kind of warmth you carry with you for the rest of your life, and you can still feel that very warmth every time you set foot in that house.

Vasti, Granny, Mom, Aunt Vasti was a treasure that will forever be missed, but as time moves forward, and the tears dry, we should choose remember the good things and happy moments we shared with her, and carry them in our hearts till the end of time.

She is survived by her husband, Gregory A. Reus; daughter, Leigh (Natalie Moore) Pitts; sons, Joey (Theresa) Reus; son, Adam (Amber) Reus; grandson, Colton (Danielle) Harris; granddaughter, Carleigh (David) Hall; granddaughter, Beth Reus; granddaughter, Semyra Reus; grandson, Jonathan Reus; grandson, Jude Reus; great grandchildren, Hailey Harris, Jessie Harris, Dalton Harris and Calvin Hall; sister, Sharlene Dixon; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by daughter, Lucinda "Cindy" Pitts; daughter, Tessa Harris; sister, Hellen Overby; brother, Dan Hembree; brother, Willie Hembree; brother David Hembree.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS.  Burial will be in Finch Cemetery, Lucedale.
