Alton Lee "Buddy" Stanford, age 90, of Wilmer, AL passed away Friday, January 24, 2025 at home in Wilmer.  Mr. Stanford was born April 27, 1934 in Vernal, MS. He is the son of the late Robert and the late Annie Lee (Parker) Stanford.  He married Patricia McDonald on September 21, 1977.

He served in the Army during the Korean war.  He was employed by Army Corps of Engineers as a safety manager.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Stanford; daughter, Tracy (Harry) McCarron; son, Phillip Stanford; son, Todd Mitchell; granddaughter, Kendell McDuffie; granddaughter, Whitney (Donald) Davis; granddaughter, Caitlin Jacobs; grandson, Christian Jacobs; grandson, Alex  Mitchell; sister, Rae (John) Odom; brother, John (Judee) Stanford; sister-in-law, Kimberly (Dr. Paul) Gully; great grandchildren, Noah Davis, Edyn Davis, Avery John Davis; many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by daughter, Terrie McDuffie; sister, Sylvia Williams; brother, Gerald Stanford; brother, Paul Stanford; brother, Roy Wayne Stanford; sister, Jaunita Nelson.

The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Wilmer First Baptist Church, 13371 Moffett Road, Wilmer, AL with Rev. William Dunnam officiating.  Burial will be in Wilmer Cemetery.
