Ben Joseph "Joe" Hobby, age 83, of Lucedale died Friday, September 20, 2019 at Providence Hospital of Mobile, AL. Mr. Hobby was born April 13, 1936 in Leaf, MS. He is the son of the late Welch Hobby and the late Thelma Geneva (Ball) Hobby. He married Dorothy Marie Tomlin on December 21, 1955 at Lucedale, MS. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War as a Communications Expert. Mr. Hobby was a member of First Baptist Church of Lucedale.

He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Marie (Tomlin) Hobby; one daughter: Sherry Williams and two sons: John Hobby and Eddie Hobby; one brother: Welch I. Hobby; grandchild, Jessica (Paul) Smith; grandchild, Dylan (Samantha) Hobby; grandchild, Camryn Hobby; grandchild, Allison Hobby; grandchild, Olivia Hobby; grandchild, Justin Wilson; grandchild, Kristen Wilson; grandchild, Seth Williams; 11 great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held 12:00 pm on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at First Baptist Church Of Lucedale, 345 Summer Street, Lucedale, MS with Rev. Eddie Davidson officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Lucedale.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, September 24 from 10:00am-12:00pm at First Baptist Church of Lucedale.
