Bettye Lou Motes, age 86, of Lucedale passed away Friday, September 16, 2022 at Amelia's Garden of Lucedale, MS.  Mrs. Motes was born February 26, 1936 in Lucedale, MS. She is the daughter of the late William D. and the late Willena (Johnston) Bearry.  She married Mr. Connie Motes, who preceded her in death in May 2006.

She was employed by Moss Point Marine as an LPN for 20 years. Mrs. Motes loved to travel, cook, read, do needle work, and visit with friends and family.

She is survived by daughter, Patsy (Reggie) Mitchell; daughter, Lynn Casino; son, Robert Motes; son, C.C (Lita) Motes; daughter, Annette (Arthur) Motes; daughter, Nell (Jim) Blackley; son, John Daniel (Deborah) Motes; daughter, Marilyn (Dwain) Goff and many grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husband, Connie Motes; Grandson, Matt Cooley; Grandson, Joseph Gaines; and granddaughter, Maddie Phillips.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main Street, Lucedale, MS.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Lucedale.
