Carbury Decamp "Buck" Cumbest, age 88, of Augusta, GA died Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at home in Lucedale. Mr. Cumbest was born April 9, 1932 in Jackson County, MS. He is the son of the late Barney Cumbest and the late Rosalie (Zeigler) Cumbest. He was predeceased by his wife Bonnie Zell Whitener Cumbest. He retired from the US Army after serving for over 20 years. Following the military, Mr. Cumbest worked till retirement at his local Sheriff Department.

He is survived by two sons: Carl A. "Hoss" (Tressia J.) Cumbest and Glenn H. "Bo" (Bonnie Koverchick) Cumbest,; two sisters: Delphia Bishop and Marliene "Tinnie" (Pierce) Movilla, and one brother: Buster Cumbest; 4 grandchildren: Noah Garcia, Aaron Goff, Keith Miller, Bonnie Amber Cumbest, 5 great grandchildren: Karma Garcia, Tori Carter, Matthew Miller, Tyler Miller, Mylee Miller, 2 great great grandchildren
Preceded in death by wife, Bonnie Zell Cumbest, 2 daughters, Delphia Faye Cumbest, L. Joyce Cumbest Garcia

The funeral will be held 5:00 pm on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS with Rev. Larry Havard officiating. Burial will be in Belleview Cemetery, Augusta, GA on Friday, February 12, 2021.
