Carlton "Carl" Bennie Steele of Lucedale passed away on January 8, 20 2 3 in his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born on August 1, 1937 in Bibb County, Alabama. He was the son of the late Lamar Roland Davis and Elizabeth Hubbard Davis and John Wesley Steele. ​ On March 14, 1980, he married Janice Havard in Esca tawpa, Mississippi. Carl Steele was a loving husband , father, and grandfather. H e served in the Army and was an electrician in the construction industry. He was a devoted member of Rhymes Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jan ice Ma rie Havard Steele; children; Carla (Wayne) Shows, Connie (Chris) Hilbun, Ben (Janet) Steele, and Shelly Clark; grandchildren: Wes (Devin Breland) Shows, Lindsey (Russell) Pierce, Christopher (Amanda) Hilbun, Caitie (Michael) Mears, Jordan Steele, Jus tin (L ibby Murphy) Steele, Josh McCarra, Steve Walther, and Carlie Clark; great grandchildren; Carson, Zane, and Kylie Pierce, Abi and Izy Breland, Kaylee Hudson, Cailyn and Gabriel Hilbun, Gracelyn and Michaela Mears, Roman Steele, and Beau Steele; brothe rs: Ro land (Marcella) Davis and sister in law: Nell Davis and a host of loving Nieces and Nephews .

He was predeceased in death by his Mother Eli zabeth Hubbard Davis, Father, Lamar R Davis and John Wesley Steele , John M . Davis, brother.

Th e funeral will be held at 11:00 am at Sigler Funeral Home , 4248 Main St. , L ucedal e , MS with Rev. Breaux Tageant, Rev. Rev. Dale Dean and Rev Mike Mcleod officiating. Burial will be in Rosedale United Methodist Church Cemetery , Harleston , MS.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 5:00pm-8:00pm and Wednesday, Janua ry 11, 2023 from 10:00-11:00am at Sigler Funeral Home , 4248 Main St. , Lucedale, MS .
