Chappell McLendon, age 89, of Lucedale died Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Wesley Medical Center of Hattiesburg, MS. Mrs. McLendon was born April 25, 1931 in Wiggins, MS. She is the daughter of the late Isam Breland and the late Chappell (Havard) Breland. She married the late Elvin O. McLendon Sr. Chappell was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Homemaker.
Mrs. McLendon was a member of New Life Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters: Kathy Marie (Dennis) Nelson of Benndale, MS and Rebecca Ann (Troy) Ford of Benndale, MS, and one son: Elvin O. (Liz) McLendon Jr. of Benndale, MS; grandchild, Tammy Kay McLendon; grandchild, Jon O. (Kesha) McLendon; grandchild, Jerry H. (Sherrie) Goff; grandchild, Amanda Goff; grandchild, Leanna Ford; Great grandchild, Hailey (Scott) Harrison; Great grandchild, Keoki Laphand; Great grandchild, Emily Howell; Great grandchild, Kimberly Goff; Great grandchild, Katlyn Howell; Great grandchild, Derick Owell; Great grandchild, Kendon O. McLendon; Great grandchild, Erianna Dennis; Great grandchild, Olivia Dennis; Great grandchild, Landon McLendon; Great Great Child , Jaxx Dixon; Great Great Child , Josie Pierce.

Predeceased by her granddaughter, Erica Ford, granddaughter, Charlotte Kay McLendon, and husband, Elvin O. McLendon Sr

A graveside service will be held 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at New Life Baptist Church Cemetery, 9244 Hwy 57, McLain, MS. Burial will be in New Life Cemetery, Leaf, MS.

Calling hours will be Saturday, March 13 from 3:00-4:00pm at New Life Baptist Church.
