Charles William Colson, age 66, of Benndale died Monday, March 27, 2017 at home in
Benndale. Mr. Colson was born June 20, 1950 in Sarasota, FL. He is the son of the late
Charles Richard and the late Elli Mae (Ward) Colson. He married Juanita Gillis on June 25,
1994 at Lucedale, MS.

He served his country in the U. S. Navy. He was employed by Ingalls Shipbuilders as a Fitter.

He is survived by his wife: Juanita Colson , one daughter: Connie (Murdock) Elkins of
Benndale, MS and three sons: William (Kendra) Colson of Corpus Christi, TX, Michael
(Chelsey) Colson of New Castle, CO and Matthew (Elena) Colson of Glenwood Springs, CO,;
two sisters: Jenny (Clifton) Hudson of Gautier, MS and Mary Irene "Beanie (Jackie) Havens of
Benndale, MS, and three brothers: Oscar (Lous) Colson of Benndale, MS, Byron Everette
(Janise) Colson of Benndale, MS and Rockey (Utah) Colson of Benndale, MS,
9 grandchildren 4 great grandchildren

The funeral will be held 2:00 pm on Friday, March 31 at New Zeal Missionary Baptist Church,
Vestry, MS with Elder Rockey Colson officiating. Burial will be in Ellen Branch Garden,
Benndale on Friday, March 31 at .

Calling hours will be Thursday, March 30 from 5:00-8:00pm at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main
St., Lucedale, MS
