Charles Lavelle Cook, age 85, passed away on October 29, 2026 at home in Lucedale, MS. He was born in Lucedale, MS on February 23, 1941 to the late Adolphus Leroy Cook and the late Fannie Bell Conner Cook. Charles retired from Singing River Electric Company. He was an active member of Barton Baptist Church until his illness and was a longtime member of the Co-ed 1 Sunday School Class.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Virginia B. Cook; daughters: Kimberly Cook (Chuck) Whittington and Sonya Cook (Ralph) Moon; grandchildren: Savannah Whittington, Chipper (Brittney) Whittington, and Carson Moon; sister, Jean Hayden; numerous nieces and nephews and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Adolphus Leroy and Fannie Bell Cook and twelve brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, November 2, 2026 at Barton Baptist Church, 2202 MS-63 S, Lucedale, MS. Burial will follow in Barton Baptist Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:30am-11:00am on Monday, November 2, 2026 at Barton Baptist Church, 2202 MS-63 S, Lucedale, MS.

Serving as pallbearers: Chester Avera, William Roberts, Barkley Henderson, Alan Brown, Carson Moon, and Chipper Whittington.

Serving as honorary pallbearers: Robin Morrison and the Co-ed 1 Sunday School Class.
