Charles Wayne Motes, age 80, of Lucedale died Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at home in
Lucedale. Mr. Motes was born November 21, 1936 in Lucedale, MS. He is the son of the late
Easter C. and the late Myrtie (Goodman) Motes
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed by U. S Army as a Recruiter.
He retired after 34 year in the Military.
He is survived by his wife: Judy (Eubanks) Motes, two daughters: Darlene (Ed) Williams of
Ocean Springs, MS and Angie (Mike) Murchison of Mobile, AL, two sisters: Ruth Sawyer of TX
and Barbara Hayden of Lucedale, MS, and three brothers: Carlis Motes of MA, Richard Motes of
Lucedale, MS and Marvin Motes of Gautier, MS,; He also has, 9 Grandchildren and 3 Great
Grandchildren; step son, Michael (Sarah) Walker of Lucedale, MS.
Predeceased by his brother, Connie Motes, brother, Jessie Motes, sister, Grace Hutto, sister,
Sadie Walker, sister, Margie Elder, brother, Coleman Motes.
The funeral will be held 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248
Main St., Lucedale, MS with Bro. Don Boone officiating. Burial will be in George Eubanks
Family Cemetery, Lucedale, MS.
