Charles Elbert Stringer, Sr., age 83, of Lucedale, MS passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at home. Mr. Stringer was born October 20, 1936 in Lucedale, MS. He is the son of the late Elbert Matthew and the late O. Z. (Parker) Stringer.

He was employed by Ingalls Shipbuilders as a shipfitter.

He is survived by his wife: Mary (Sheldt) Stringer , two daughters: Lynn (Timmy) Williams of Wilmer, AL and Dina Stringer Smith of Wilmer, AL, and two sons: Charles E. (Jessica) Stringer Jr. of Wilmer, AL and Joseph (Shannon) Stringer of Semmes, AL. He also has 11 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Predeceased by his Son, James Mitchell Stringer, and brother and sister in law, Ramon Matthew and Helen Stringer.

The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Union Cemetery, Hwy 613, Lucedale, MS with Rev. Rob Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
