Don L. Schmitz, age 83, of Lucedale, MS died Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at We Care Hospice of Moss Point, MS. Mr. Schmitz was born October 31, 1938 in Jackson County, MS. He is the son of the late Estil D. Schmitz and the late Dorothy (Landers) Schmitz. Mr. Schmitz had several occupations in life. He was a draftsman, a self-employed store owner and a former member of the FBI.

He is survived by his wife: Milta (Craft) Schmitz, one daughter: Charlyn (Scott) Gilliam of Hattiesburg, MS and one son: Jeff (Lynda) Schmitz of Belle Plain , IA; grandson, Nathan (Ashley) Schmitz of Nowthen, MN; grandson, Josh (Brittany) Schmitz of Ft. Campbell, KY; grandson, Jacob Schmitz of Minneapolis, MN; grandson, Nicholas Hollingsworth of Houston, TX; grandson, Mathew Hollingsworth of Houston, TX; 7 great grandchildren, one sister: Betty Rodgers of Lucedale, MS and two brothers: Hal (Wanda) Schmitz of Atlanta, GA and Bobby (Joyce) Schmitz of Mobile, AL

The funeral will be held 12:00 pm on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Refuge United Methodist Church, 6187 Hwy 63 S, Lucedale, MS. Burial will be in Refuge Methodist Church Cemetery, Lucedale, MS

Calling hours will be Monday, November 22 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Refuge United Methodist Church.
