Donald Lane Fortenberry, age 81, of Lucedale passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025 at home in Lucedale.  Mr. Fortenberry was born September 10, 1943 in Alabama. He is the son of the late Hinkle and the late Elaine Guy Fortenberry. He married Melba Jean McCardle, who preceded him in death on July 30, 2019.

He was employed by AT&T as a technician and installer. He was a member of Mississippi National Guard for 2 years. Donald was a loving father, he loved all animals and was always kind to them. He was a very talented song writer and guitar player. He was a master joke teller; he loved to make people laugh.

He is survived by son, Ricky Fortenberry; daughters, Rhonda Fortenberry Hamilton, Renee Fortenberry, and Robin Shutze; 5 grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Fortenberry; Beloved dog, Baby.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Magnolia Cemetery, 328 Mill Street, Lucedale, MS.
