Doris Jean Eckhoff, age 91, of Lucedale, MS passed away Friday, January 17, 2025. Mrs. Eckhoff was born July 27, 1933 in Lucedale, MS. She is the daughter of the late Burnis Horne and the late Lucille (Horne) Horne.  She married Fredrick Eckhoff on March 16, 1958 in Lucedale, MS. She was predeceased by her husband, Fredrick Eckhoff on February 23, 2020.  She was a retired nurse working in local hospitals and nursing homes.

Mrs. Eckhoff was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons: Stephen (Nisha) Eckhoff of Houston, TX and Brian (Tania) Eckhoff of Lucedale, MS; four grandchildren: Miles (Cecilia) Eckhoff, Cole Eckhoff, Linsey Eckhoff, Breanna Culpepper; great grandchild: Hudson Culpepper.

Doris was predeceased by husband, Fredrick D. Eckhoff; son, Larry Blackledge; granddaughter, Destinie Stauter.

The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 12153 Hwy 613, Lucedale, MS with Rev. Mike Jemison and Rev. Alan Eubanks officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Church Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Friday, January 24, 2025 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS and again Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 9:00am-10:00am at Union Missionary Baptist Church.
