Dorothy Marie Hobby, age 88, passed away March 27, 2026 at home in Lucedale, MS. She was born July 15, 1937 to the late Benjamin F. Tomlin and the late Majorie Lane Tomlin. She married Ben J. Hobby on December 21, 1955 and he preceded her in death on September 20, 2019. She embraced being a military wife, and she loved traveling the world with her family. Dorothy enjoyed beekeeping, tending to her flowers and garden with her green thumb, and bird watching. She was a nurse for many years, a member of the First Baptist Church, and she was an active member in the Daughters of the Revolution and Eastern Star.

She is survived by daughter, Sherry Williams; son, John Hobby; grandchildren: Jessica (Paul) Smith, Dylan (Samantha) Hobby, Allison Hobby, Olivia Hobby, Justin Wilson, Kristen (Ken) Walker, and Seth Williams; 13 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by husband, Ben J. Hobby; son, Eddie Hobby; grandchild, Camryn Hobby; parents, Benjamin F. and Majorie Tomlin; sisters, Jesse Burke and Mary F. Walley.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Hobby, Seth Williams, Paul Smith, Ken Walker, Kaden Walker, and Garrett White.

The funeral service will be on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 3:00pm at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St. Lucedale, MS. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
