On Friday, July 17, 2026, Dorothy "Dotsy" Jean Clark, 85, of Lucedale, Mississippi, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born on November 21, 1940, in Copiah County, Mississippi, Dotsy was the daughter of the late Willie Morris Wiggins and the late Vernetta Bell Sledge. She was later lovingly raised by her stepmother, the late Jessie Ernestine (Rogers) Wiggins.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Jerry Leroy Clark; son, Malcolm Clark; sisters: Regina Eubanks and Maria Smith.

A longtime resident of Lucedale, Dotsy was known for her servant's heart and spunky but sweet spirit. Whether she was caring for family, serving her church, or helping a neighbor in need, she lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and purpose.

Alongside her husband, she owned and operated Southern Muffler in Lucedale and at a time ran a small convenience store in Rocky Creek. Throughout the years, she also served her community as a librarian at the Lucedale Public Library, volunteered as a poll worker during elections, and devoted countless hours as a homemaker and caregiver to those she loved.

Dotsy was a faithful and active member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church, where her faith was evident not only in her words but through her service. She faithfully volunteered with Backpack Buddies, Operation Christmas Child, and the church food pantry, always looking for ways to meet the needs of others.

One of Dotsy's greatest joys was quilting. She lovingly created hundreds of quilts over the years, including quilts for the Quilts of Valor Foundation, a nonprofit that awards handmade quilts to military service members and veterans who have been touched by war, each one stitched with patience, talent, and love. Her gift extended beyond blankets; she also crocheted and donated hats for cancer patients, ministering to people she would never meet. She found joy in traveling, listening to bluegrass music, researching genealogy, and gathering with family and friends. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with those she loved.

To her family, she was simply "Nanny." Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren were among her greatest blessings. She leaves to cherish her memory her three sons: John (Kristie) Clark, Dennis Clark, Kenny (Nicki) Clark; daughter-in-law Cindy Bishop; her sisters, Joye Jackson and Connie (Earl) Purvis; her brothers, Gerald (Edna) Wiggins, Arvis (Synithia) Wiggins, and Bill Sharbrough; her beloved 14 grandchildren: Clifton (Kasey) Clark, Kristina (David) Pritchett, Lancer (Emily) Clark, Jamie Clark, Erika (Claudio) Clark Donndelinger, Christopher (Jamie) Morman, Jeremy (Malorie) Clark, Jessica Gagnon, Josh (Madison) Clark, Keisha (Jon) McLendon, Kandyce (Brittany) Clark, Kaitlyn (DJ) McQueen, Jordan (Jessica) Steele, and Justin (Libby) Steele; 34 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were blessed by her love.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 20, 2026, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 2165 Rocky Creek Road, Lucedale, Mississippi. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Arvis Wiggins and Dr. Paul Brashier officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Creek Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Clifton Clark, David Pritchett, Dylan Burchfield, Jamie Clark, Jeremy Clark, Josh Clark, and Hunter Gagnon.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends, church family, caregivers, and healthcare professionals who surrounded Dotsy with compassion, love, and support throughout her final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dotsy's honor to the Backpack Buddies Ministry at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 2165 Rocky Creek Road, Lucedale, MS 39452.

Dotsy's legacy is one of faith, service, compassion, and love. She leaves behind not only a family who adored her but a community made better because she was part of it. Her spirit, caring heart, and steadfast example will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
