Douglas J Axtell, age 66, of Lucedale passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at George Regional Medical Center of Lucedale, MS. His Mantra "God's got this" was his refuge. He fought hard against the Renal Cancer relying on his longstanding faith in God and the love of his family and friends. Mr. Axtell was born June 23, 1955 in Greenville, PA. He is the son of the late Donald Leroy and the late Joyce Anne (Fenton) Axtell.  He married Debora Flurry on October 28, 1989 in Lucedale, MS. He was a member of House of Praise Church in Hurley, MS.

He was employed by Ingalls Shipbuilders as a Joiner / Insulator for many years and several years at Walmart as an associate.

He is survived by his wife: Debora (Flurry) Axtell of Lucedale, MS; one daughter: Jacqueline D. Feaster of Monroeville, AL; Three sons: Jonathan A. Axtell (Summer) of Lucedale, MS, Andrew K. Axtell of Lucedale, MS, Tyler D. Axtell (Alyzza Segovia) of Lucedale, MS; Four grandchildren: Dylan, Kaylee, and Lilly Feaster of Monroeville, AL and Laken Axtell of Lucedale, MS; Two brothers: Donald R. Axtell (Lana) of Moss Point, MS and Eugene (Sherrie) Ondich of Polaski, PA; Two sisters: Kathy J. (William "Bill") Kambic of Lucedale, MS and Lisa D. (William) Hancock of Hurley, MS; A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, church family, previous coworkers, and friends.

He is preceded in death by parents: Donald L. and Joyce A. (Fenton) Axtell; grandparents: John L. and Frances E. (Brown) Axtell, and Rolland H. and Olga V. (Wood) Fenton; brother: Danny L. Axtell.

Pastor William Hancock will be officiating the Celebration of Life Memorial Service. It will be held Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 6pm at House of Praise located in Hurley, MS.
