Earline Ward Martin, age 101, of Lucedale, MS, died Sunday, October 1, 2017 in Ocean Springs, MS. Mrs. Martin was a native of Philadelphia, MS. She is the daughter of the late Earl and Ethel (Cannon) Ward. She married Junius H. Martin of Philadelphia. She was predeceased by her husband, in January 1980.

Mrs. Martin moved to Moss Point, MS in 1954 where she worked for Brumfield's Department Store. She retired in 1971, and moved to Lucedale, MS where she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lucedale and served as its librarian for over 30 years. Mrs. Martin loved being a grandmother and spending her time tending her flower beds. She enjoyed reading and visiting with her friends.


She is survived by one daughter: Lynn (Larry) King of Ocean Springs, MS; granddaughter, Jessica (Matt) Roberts of Lucedale, MS; granddaughter, Monica (Eric) George of St. Augustine, FL; great granddaughter, Courtney (Ryan) Rickett; great granddaughter, Hannah George; great granddaughter, Madisen George; sister-in-law, Ouida Ward of Louisville, MS; brother-in-law, Paul Martin; brother-in-law, Wendell Martin; sister-in-law, Charlene Clark; sister-in-law, Dot Wallace and sister-in-law Ruby Martin.
Predeceased by her brother, Henry (Luvie) Ward, brother, Norris Ward, and sister, Doris Ward

The funeral will be held 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St. Lucedale, MS. Graveside services will be in Coldwater Cemetery, Philadelphia, MS on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 2:30 pm.

Calling hours will be Saturday, October 7 from 2:00-3:00pm at Sigler Funeral Home and Monday, October 9 from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm at McLain Hayes Funeral Home, Philadelphia, MS.
