Edith Stallworth Ferrill, age 102, of Lucedale, MS died Friday, September 29, 2023 at George Regional Medical Center of Lucedale, MS.  Ms. Ferrill was born July 18, 1921 in Lucedale, MS. She is the daughter of the late Thomas Murray Ferrill and the late Eunice (Stallworth) Ferrill.

She was employed by Bank of Lucedale as an Assistant Cashier for 47 years before her retirement. Ms. Edith was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lucedale where she played the organ since October 1949. Her last day to play for the church was February 5, 2012. Edith began playing the piano at home starting at age 9. As an adult she would ride the bus on Wednesdays to Mobile for organ lessons at the Christ Episcopal Church. If she missed the bus, Doug Luce Sr., president of bank, would drive her to the lessons.

She is survived by; Nephew, Tom (Bette) Ferrill Jr.; Great Niece, Ashley  (Eric) Ferrill-Newcomer, Great Great Niece, Hailey Meredith Ferrill-Newcomer born September 28, 2023

Predeceased by parents, Murray and Eunice Ferrill, daughter, Brenda Parkinson, Sister, Gladys F. (Gideon) Brown, brother, Tom Ferrill Sr., nephew, Ferrill Brown

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Lucedale, 345 Summer Street, Lucedale, MS with Rev. Eddie Davidson officiating.  Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery, Lucedale, MS following the services.
