Erik Garner Ward, age 55, of Lucedale passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Forrest General Hospital of Hattiesburg, MS. Mr. Ward was born July 22, 1965 in Lucedale, MS. He is the son of John Mallory and Alceon (Coaker) Ward.

Mr. Ward graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Business and Marketing in 1987. He worked at VMIC computer businesses in Huntsville, AL for nine years before returning to Lucedale to work at the Department of Corrections as a case manager. He worked there for 23 years before retiring in 2019.  Mr. Ward was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lucedale.

He is survived by parents John Mallory and Alceon (Coaker) Ward; one brother: John C. (Monique) Ward of Ocean Springs, MS; one nephew, Kevin (Nikki) Ward of VA; a great nephew, Huch Ward of VA; an Aunt, Verne Bates and several cousins.

The Memorial Services will be held 11:00 am on Friday, May 21, 2021 at First United Methodist Of Lucedale, 5101 Main Street, Lucedale, MS with Rev. David Newton and Rev. Larry White officiating.  Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
