Evelyn Merlene Pierce, age 81, of Moss Point passed away Monday, April 17, 2023 at home in Moss Point.  Mrs. Pierce was born January 28, 1942 in Lucedale, MS. She is the daughter of the late J.M. "Red" and the late Sally Griffin Edwards. She married Robert H. "Buck" Pierce on June 24, 1960 and he preceded her in death on January 16, 1995.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam (Tim) Whitaker; sons, Jubal (Tonya) Pierce and Justin (Karen) Pierce; Grandchildren, Zachary (April) Whitaker, Cody (Dayla) Whitaker, Tyler (Alyx) Pierce, Hannah (Keaton) Stork, Katelyn Pierce (Jack Alexander), Abigail Pierce; great grandchildren, Bryson Whitaker, Ella Whitaker, and Kynleigh Pierce; brother, Roy (Mary) Edwards; sisters, Bonnie Helton and Arnette (Stephen) Tolley.

Predeceased by husband, Robert H. "Buck" Pierce; parents, J.M. "Red" and Sally Edwards; brother, Johnny M. Edwards.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gentiva hospice and Heather, Kei, Debbie, Nan, and Suzanne for all of their care and compassion.

The funeral will be held 12:00 pm on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Tanner Williams Holiness Church with Rev. Donnie Williamson officiating.  Burial will be in Joyner Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Tanner Williams Holiness Church.
