Florence L Wilson, age 86, of Lucedale passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Sparrows Hills Personal Care of Lucedale, MS.  Mrs. Wilson was born June 15, 1937 in Lucedale, MS. She is the daughter of the late Elijah and the late Evelyn (Moore) Howard.  She married Xerxes Alexander Wilson Sr. She was predeceased by her husband, Xerxes Alexander Wilson Sr. on March 20, 2004.

She was employed by George County School District as a teacher.

She is survived by two daughters: Marsha Wilson Hodges and Esther Ray Lambert; son: Xerxes "Alex" Wilson; eleven grandchildren: Mia Ryleigh Holland Wilson, Lauren E. Hodges Lee, Aaron J. Hodges, Ethan W. Hodges, Xerxes "Lex" Wilson, Elijah I. Wilson, Carlie Flurry Wilson, Joshua Wilburn, Kaci Pribanic Wilburn, Hannah Hollinghead Calloway, Mann Calloway; three great-grandchildren: Carson R. Sumrall, Alana Grace Wilburn, and Fallon Lee Wilburn; brother, Warren Howard.

Predeceased by her husband, Xerxes "XA" Wilson; daughter, Iris Michele Wilson; brother, Buddy Howard; sister, Robbie Howard.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Brushy Creek Road, Lucedale, MS.  Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery, Lucedale, MS.
