George Edward "Ed" Rouse, age 85, of Jefferson City, TN, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023. Mr. Rouse was born October 20, 1938 in Mobile, AL. He is the son of the late Fletcher F. and the late Mae Dixon Rouse.

Since he was ten years old, he loved playing the piano and singing along with it. He played for a gospel quartet for many years, played at the Darby House for over 10 years, and served as a pianist, organist, and music director at multiple churches throughout his life. He also enjoyed working in his garden and his yard.

He is survived by his second wife, of 20 years, Susie Rouse; daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Gordon Webb; grandson, Alex Webb; special adopted son and his wife, Jason and Sierra Dean and their children, Nolan and Brinlee; and many cousins.

Preceded in death by his first wife of 36 years, Marlene Rouse; parents, Fletcher and Mae Rouse; sister and brother-in-law, Melba and Sammy Hatcher.

The funeral will be held 12:00 pm on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Refuge Church, 6187 Hwy 63 S, Lucedale, MS with Ronnie Miller officiating.  Burial will be in Refuge Church Cemetery, Lucedale, MS.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 11:00am-12:00pm at Refuge Church, 6187 Hwy 63 S, Lucedale, MS.
