Glenn Wood Vincent, 83 of Agricola, MS passed away Monday, December 27, 2021, at his home in Agricola, MS. He was born Sunday, October 23, 1938, in Agricola, MS.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 11:00AM at Agricola Baptist Church, 7268 Barton-Agricola Road, Agricola, MS. Visitation will be held 9:00AM –11:00AM at the Church. Tommy Mitchell, Eddie Davidson, and Glenn's son, Mark Vincent will officiate.
Glenn graduated from Agricola High School in 1956 and was known by his friends as "Lou." He owned and operated several businesses in George County including Vincent's Hardware and Building Supply in Agricola, MS and Vincent's Clothiers in Lucedale, MS. He enjoyed spending time on his farm which he called Cralumar, named after his three children, Craig, LuAnn, and Mark. He was adventurous. He and his longtime friend, Ben Shows, bicycled across the United States beginning in Bar Harbor, Maine and completing the trek in Seattle, Washington.
Glenn was no stranger to suffering and pain. His first child died in a car accident in 1981 and his first wife, Wanda, died after a battle with cancer in 1987. But, in 1989 Glenn married Kay and they had thirty-two wonderful years together and adventures of their own, a great life. Glenn was a member of Agricola Baptist Church.
Glenn was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Yonge Vincent; daughter, LuAnn Vincent; father, Don J. Vincent; mother, Willie Mae Pope Vincent; sisters Johnie Ruth Versluys and Joy Dodge; and brother, Donald Vincent.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Lee Vincent; two sons, Mark Jubal Vincent (Janine) and Craig Yonge Vincent (Dena); two stepsons Marc Atherton Foster (Cindy) and Philip Russell (Sandy) Foster; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express our gratitude to his loving caregiver, Stacy Hempstead McDonald, and to Hospice of Light for their exceptional care.
Pallbearers will be John Mark Vincent, Jacob Craig Vincent, Samuel Wesley Vincent, Philip Russell Foster Jr., Jordan Smith and Bryan Byrd.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Clarke-Venable Baptist Church in Decatur, MS, or Agricola Baptist Church.
