Guy Lewis Middleton, age 72, of Lucedale died Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Providence Hospital of Mobile, AL. Mr. Middleton was born June 28, 1945 in Lucedale, MS. He is the son of the late Willie Hess and the late Ruby (Brannon) Middleton. He married Martha Varnadore on August 30, 1963. He was predeceased by his wife, Martha Varnadore Middleton on December 3, 2017.

He was employed by Ingalls Shipbuilders as a Welder Forman. Mr. Middleton was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon and Song Director. Guy enjoyed southern gospel music and was a member of local southern gospel group Southern Melody. In his spare time, he also taught guitar lessons prior to his illness.

He is survived by one son: Guy Middleton Jr.; daughter-in-law, Shelley Middleton; one sister, Virginia Edwards and two brothers: Carl Brown and Fred (Barbara) Middleton, grandson, Kallen Middleton

Predeceased by his Wife, Martha Middleton, daughter, Cynthia Cagle, and 2 brother, Ronnie Middleton, John Middleton, 3 sisters, Bertie Brasell, Lillie Johnson, Marie Upshaw

The funeral will be held 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 12153 Hwy 613, Lucedale, MS with Rev. Mike Jemison officiating. Burial will be in Union Bapt. Church, Lucedale.

Calling hours will be Saturday, April 21 from 5:00-8:00pm at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS.
