Bartlett, James "Birl" long time resident of Lucedale passed away May 4, 2020. Mr. Bartlett was born October 27, 1925 in Boaz, Alabama. Mr. Bartlett was a World War II navy veteran and had many occupations throughout his life. He is described by his family as a wonderful father and family man. He was intelligent and witty. His hobbies included golfing and he was a huge Alabama football fan.
He was preceded in death by his former wife Mary H. Wozencraft Bartlett, and a son James Hugh Bartlett.
He is survived by his wife Shirley R. (Landrum ) Bartlett, a son Rodger W. Bartlett (Belma), one daughter Johnna B. Haynes (Donald). Three stepsons, Martin Bilbo (Christa), Heath Bilbo (Mona) and Joshua Bilbo ( Missy). Nine grandchildren, Robel Mylroie (Lars), Rodger S. Bartlett (Rebecca), John W. Bartlett, Rebecah Dean (Dale), Jacob Haynes (Rebecca), Robert B. J. Bartlett, Heather Islam (Mohammed), Hayley Bartlett, and Derrick Bartlett and 8 great grandchildren.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Carter Cemetery, Lucedale, MS.
