On November 21, 2025, James Lawrence "Larry" Taylor, Jr., 85, went home to be with his Lord. Born June 21, 1940, Larry spent his life being the kind of man others looked up to; honest, steady, and deeply devoted to the people he loved. Known for his quiet strength and gentle heart, Larry will be deeply missed.

Larry married the love of his life Jelna, September 19,1964.Their more than six decades together were marked by loyalty, partnership, and unwavering commitment to their family.

Whether he was managing Lucedale Veneer, serving as a Procurement Manager at Scott Paper Company/Kimberly-Clark, or serving on the First State Bank Board of Directors, Larry approached every job with integrity.

After work, you'd find him fishing on the rivers and lakes he loved, hunting with friends and family, carving beautiful pieces of artwork , or on some back road looking for arrowheads.

He is survived by the loves of his life: his wife, Jelna; daughters, Kim Davis (Jay) and Heather Taylor-Jones; granddaughter Meagan Mason (Tony); his heart, great-granddaughter, Taylor Grace Mason and his dog Shine.

Waiting for him in Heaven are his parents, James and Juanita Taylor, and his infant son.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Rocky Creek Cemetery, 1208-1222 Rocky Creek Road, Lucedale.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jay Davis, Tony Mason, Charley Hunt, Jordan Hunt, Jansen Hunt, Brian Carpenter, Johnny Glenn Busby, Joe Thornton.
