James Garland Smith, age 91, of Lucedale, MS passed away Monday, September 27, 2021 at George Regional Medical Center of Lucedale, MS.  Mr. Smith was born May 16, 1930 in Village, AR. He is the son of the late Dewitt Smith and the late Algie May (Nall) Smith. He married Bettie Jean Smith on December 30, 1950 at Altamonte Springs, FL. He was predeceased by his wife on September 27, 2015. He served in the US Air Force as a chaplain's assistant from 1948 to 1971.

He is survived by one daughter: Joyce Smith and two sons: Lester (Laurie) Smith and Eugene (Fran) Smith, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 am on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Magnolia Cemetery, Lucedale, MS.
