James Wade Spraberry, 76, of Lucedale, Mississippi, passed away on February 19th due to health-related issues. James battled with numerous medical conditions but just like he dealt with all experiences in life, James managed them with strength and fortitude. On his final day, he was smiling next to his wife, Diane, who he adored more than anything else in the world.

James grew up in Grenada, Mississippi where he was a star quarterback at John Rundle High School. While attending Mississippi State University he joined the Mississippi National Guard then moved to George County where he met his wife, Diane. He chose a career path that met his larger-than-life personality. He worked for the George County Extension Service, was an Agricultural Officer and Assistant Vice President at the Bank of Lucedale, owned and operated two vehicle dealerships, Ballow Motors and Spraberry Motors, was a Realtor and a Real Estate Investor. James was very active in the communities in which he lived. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lucedale and served as Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Bay St. Louis. He was President of the Lucedale Rotary Club, George County Jaycees, George County Heart Association, and Mississippi State Alumni Assoc., George County Chapter and was a chairman on several organizations including Boy Scouts of America and the 4-H club. Other civic duties included being a founding member of the George County Watermelon Festival and Chairman of the Lucedale Christmas Parade and George County Fair. When he wasn't working for or serving the community, he loved watching sports (his beloved MSU Bulldogs), being outdoors, camping, and spending time with his family and dogs. One his favorite hobbies was being a handy man. He could fix just about anything and always loved "tinkering" in his shed.

James was a kind and loving partner to his wife Diane, as well as an amazing father to his two sons Wade and Kyle. Aside from being survived by his wife and two children he leaves behind his sister Mary Katherine Garner, brother Clyde "Bud" Spraberry, grandsons Ethan and Eric Spraberry, and granddaughter Elyse Spraberry.

Funeral Service and a celebration of life for his family and friends will held at 11:00am, March 12, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Lucedale, MS. Calling hours will be March 12, 2022 from 10:00-11:00am at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Eddie Davidson will officiate the services. Any donations made in James's honor are encouraged to go towards the Alzheimer's Association or to a local animal shelter.
