Janice LaRea Grant, age 65, of Lucedale, MS died Thursday, April 15, 2021 at George Regional Medical Center of Lucedale, MS. Mrs. Grant was born August 22, 1955 in Lucedale, MS. She is the daughter of the late John Clifton Leggett Sr. and the late Dorothy (Stevens) Leggett Edwards. She married Troy Elwood Grant on December 18, 1971. She was employed as a Medical Transcriber. Mrs. Grant was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband: Troy Elwood Grant, one daughter: Pamela (Phillip) Carter and two sons: Jeffery (Samantha) Grant and Jason Grant,; two brothers: Johnny (Shirley) Leggett and Stephen (Susan) Leggett, 12 Grandchildren: Justin Carter, Lathan (Tori) Carter, Austin (Montana) Carter, Christopher (Isabelle) Grant, Thomas Grant, Cameron (Jade) Grant, Ashley Grant, Caleb Grant, Chelsey Grant, Shawn Grant, Kendall Grant, Carter Grant
3 Great Grandchildren: Kendrick Grant, Kaiden Grant, Rowan Grant

Predeceased by her parents, Dorothy & John Clifton Leggett Sr., sister, Dessie Leggett, sister, Paula Nell Leggett, and sister, Joyce Reanee Leggett

The funeral will be held 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 14170 Hwy 98, Lucedale, MS with Rev. Curtis Leggett officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Sunday, April 18 from 2:30-4:00pm at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
