JD Harold Brooks, 84, passed away on June 17, 2022, in Ocean Springs, MS. He was born March 25, 1938 to Coyt and Moddie Brooks in North Jackson County, MS in the Salem Community.

He attended Wade High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1956. After graduation, JD served his country in the US Navy for four years. He worked several years at International Paper and retired from Snyder Trucking Company. JD enjoyed farming and raising livestock with his father.

JD was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and as a youth he was an active member of the MYF and always enjoyed their reunions. He also attended Barton Baptist with his wife, Cora Frances. JD and Cora were blessed to have been married for over 50 years.

JD is preceded in death by his parents, Coyt and Moddie; wife, Cora Frances; sisters, Anna Lene Brooks Wozencraft and Avis Brooks Hinson; brother, Thomas Coyt Brooks (Dale) and sister-in-law, Janice Schreiner.

He is survived by sisters, Bobbie Jean Dykes and Martha Emma Marion; sister-in-law, Ruth Brooks; nieces, Marlene Hinson Rawle, Karen Dykes Graves, Fran Brooks Perry, Anna Marion Albritton, and Robin Schreiner; nephews, Frank Dykes, Andrew Marion, Charles Brooks, and Todd Schreiner. Other survivors include The Loyd Johnson Family and The Clark Schreiner Family.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main Street Lucedale, MS. Burial will be in Barton Baptist Church Cemetery.
