Nina "Jeannie" Churchwell, age 70, of Lucedale passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at home in Lucedale. Mrs. Churchwell was born September 19, 1951. She is the daughter of the late Ottis O. and the late Mattye McBryde Cook. She married Gavin Churchwell Jr. fifty years ago, on August 20, 1971.

She was employed as an X-ray Technician before she retired. She was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by husband, Gavin Churchwell Jr.; daughter, Tracy Diane Churchwell; two sisters, Linda Dunnam and Pat (Stennis) Havard; granddaughter, Victoria Mattye Clayton; brother & sister-in-law, Gary & Betsy Smith; Mother-in-law, Victoria Odessa Athelone Churchwell, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 12153 Hwy 613, Lucedale, MS with Rev. Terry Smith and Rev. Jason Matheny officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Lucedale.

Calling hours will be Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 9:00-11:00am at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 12153 Hwy 613, Lucedale, MS.
