Jerry Wayne Robbins, age 76, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on November 20, 2024 surrounded at home by his family. He was born October 9, 1948 in Big Lake, Texas.

He is survived in death by his wife of 46 years Jeanette Fairley Robbins, Father in Law Clarence Fairley, daughter Faith Roberson (Justin), son Billy Wayne Robbins (Kayln) and daughter Jerri Kenny (John).  Many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brothers and sister Mack McGinty (Betty), Bari McGinty, Butch Montgomery (Lyne) and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his mother Gladys Marie Robbins, step-father Calvin McGinty  and father William Sherman Montgomery, Mother in Law Virginia Fairley and brothers Wallace Montgomery and Johnny Robbins.

Jerry was raised in San Angelo, TX amongst his cousins where they fished in nearby lakes and rivers, competing in track in middle and high school.

Jerry enrolled in the US Army in 1966 and served in Germany and Vietnam in the First Infantry also known as "The Big Red One". He was honorably discharged in 1969 before returning to San Angelo where he met Jeanette in 1976 before moving to Mobile, Al. in 1986.

He worked in the home medical field for 22 years, owning Coastal Medical Management for 12 years.

He dedicated over 20 years to Christian Ministry, serving as President among other roles of the Christian Motorcyclists Association. He became an Ordained Minister while working as a Counselor for Wings of Life in 1997.

Jerry enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his family, always there for whatever they needed. He was a proud Texas man that knew his way around a brisket, with his made from scratch beans and sauces.

He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, loved the Texas Longhorns and later adopted Alabama as his team. He enjoyed hunting in Mississippi with Clarence, whom he loved as a father and mentor. Over the last 9 years Jerry was able to travel to places like the Grand Canyon, the Ark Encounter and the Corvette Museum with Jeanette and grand-daughter Cailyn. In his later years he developed a love to play golf with his late best friend Lankford Webb.

Jerry's presence will be missed by his family with his stories of childhood, his love and devotion to them and his laughs and smile. But there is comfort in knowing he is at home with the Lord.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 25, 2024 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS with Rev. Patrick Casey officiating.  Burial will be in Joe P. Fairley Cemetery, Leaf, MS.
