Jett Marion Dorsett Jr., age 84, of Lucedale, MS passed away Friday, February 23, 2024, at home in Lucedale.  Mr. Dorsett was born August 27, 1939, in Mobile, AL. He is the son of the late Jett Marion Dorsett Sr. and the late Mary H. (Johnson) Dorsett. He was a 1957 graduate of Lucedale High School and a 1962 graduate of University of Southern Mississippi. Jett served this community in many ways. He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Lucedale where he was a Life Deacon. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, a Shriner, and served as a member of the first City of Lucedale Planning Committee. Jett owned and operated Dorsett Realty, the Dorsett Motel and the famous Coffee Pot Restaurant.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Grant Dorsett; daughter, Jane Dorsett (Jimmy) Lever of Madison, MS; son, Jett Marion Dorsett III, Mark Hoffman of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Mary Evelyn Evans of Lucedale, MS; granddaughter, Julia Evelyn Lever of Madison, MS.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 26, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Lucedale, 345 Summer Street, Lucedale, MS with Dr. Eddie Davidson officiating.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Lucedale, MS following the services.

Calling hours will be Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 5:00-7:00pm at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS and Monday, February 26, 2024, from 10:00-11:00am at First Baptist Church of Lucedale.
