Joan Dianne Welford, age 59, of Lucedale died Thursday, December 10, 2015 at home in
Lucedale. Mrs. Welford was born July 3, 1956 in Clovis, NM. She is the daughter of the late
William "Bill" Rostelle and the late Dessie Adelia (Mace) Waites. Also preceded in death by
sister, Jean D. Smith, parents-in-law, A. A. and Flossie Welford Sr. She married John A. Welford
on December 27, 1975 at Lucedale, MS.
She was a Home Maker who graduated from Gulf Coast Community College, Perkinston, MS in
May 1985. Mrs. Welford was a member of Family Life Fellowship.
She is survived by her husband: John A. Welford and two daughters: Johnnie (Michael) Miles,
Katherine (Jacob) Yates; granddaughter, Frances (Josh) Hamby; grandson, Christopher
Holliman; granddaughter, Cecily Holliman; great granddaughter, Haylee Ann Marie Ferguson;
great granddaughter, Chloe Leigh Ferguson; great grandson, Isaac William Hamby; sister-inlaw,
Rebecca (John L.) Rigney Jr.; brother-in-law, A. A. (Cathy) Welford Jr.; brother-in-law,
Michael J. Smith 7 nieces, 5 nephews, 12 great nieces and 13 great nephews
The funeral will be held 12:00 pm on Monday, December 14 at Family Life Fellowship, 249
Brushy Creek Road, Lucedale, MS with Bro. Arvis Wiggins officiating. Burial will be in Family
Life Fellowship, Lucedale on Monday, December 14 at 12:00 pm.
Calling hours will be Sunday, December 13 from 6:00-9:00pm at Family Life Fellowship.
