John Russell Griffin, age 81, of Lucedale passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at his home in Lucedale, MS.  Mr. Griffin was born December 9, 1940 in Mobile, AL, but was raised in the Tanner Williams community. He is the son of the late John M. and the late Rosalie (Howell) Griffin.  He married Mary Poole on June 5, 2006 in Pigeon Forge, Tn.

He was a self-employ farmer. He raised blueberry for several years before Katrina came and destroyed his tree, then he went into cattle farming. He had a heart for growing vegetable gardens and fruit trees. Before he went into farming, he owned Griffin Well Service for over 30 years which he also enjoyed operating.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Griffin, two sons: Bret Griffin and Timothy Griffin and two grandchildren, Malcolm Griffin and Hanna Griffin.

Predeceased by two sons, Max Griffin and Bart Griffin.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Sigler Funeral Home 4248 Main St. Lucedale, MS with Dr. Brad Howard officiating.  Burial will be in Carter Cemetery in Lucedale, MS.
