Joseph Rudolph Rogers, age 97, of Lucedale, MS passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at home. Mr. Rogers was born November 26, 1923 in Herringburg, MS. He is the son of the late Ernest Cleveland and the late Sara Ella (Havard) Rogers. He married Lilith Brown.

He served in the Navy during World War II from 4/21/1944 to 5/8/1946.  He was self-employed owner of Rogers Refrigeration Service then later worked at the Alabama State Docks as an A. C. Mechanic.

He is survived by his wife: Lilith (Brown) Rogers, two daughters: Kaye (Warren) Howard of Lucedale, MS and Becky (Stu) White of Hurley, MS, and one son: Tim (Glenda) Rogers of Lucedale, MS;He also has seven grandchildren, Melissa (Allen) Walley of Lucedale, MS; Jennifer (Brent) Hurley of Ocean Springs, MS; Jameson (Meg) White of Mobile, AL; Justin Howard of Lucedale, MS; Makayla (Dylan) Smith of Lucedale, MS; Connor (Lea Anna) White of Hurley, MS; Macy Rogers of Lucedale, MS; 7 Great grandchildren; Anna Kathryn Pilger;  Kaylee Mae Pilger; Seth Hurley; Alison Hurley; Mallory Sims; Jack Sims; Asa Joseph Smith.

Predeceased by his grandson, Matthew Joseph Rogers.

The funeral will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS with Rev.  Keith Kirkwood and Tim Rogers officiating.  Burial will be in Rocky Creek Cemetery, Lucedale, MS.
