Josephine Howell, age 97, of Lucedale passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at home in Lucedale.  Mrs. Howell was born April 10, 1924 in Vaiden, MS. She is the daughter of the late William Calvin and the late Ruth Virginia (Whisenant) Pritchard.  She married Eugene Columbus Howell on December 24, 1949 in Jackson, MS; He predeceased her on February 14, 2017.

She was employed by Lucedale Middle School as a cafeteria manager. Mrs. Howell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lucedale.

She is survived by three daughters: Janice (Darwin) Allen of Mobile, AL, Debra (Mike) Wilson of Lucedale, MS and Karen (Stephen) Stewart of Purvis, MS, and one son: Andy (Anna) Howell of Madison, MS; She also has ten grandchildren, Brian Allen, Eric Allen, Payton Allen, Allison Lee, Michael Wilson, David Wilson, Rachel Jones, Christopher Stewart, Maggie Carter, Spence Howell and 14 great grandchildren.

Predeceased by; her granddaughter, Jeanna Allen and husband, Eugene C. Howell.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS with Rev. Jason Jones officiating.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
