Kenneth Guy Purcell, age 84, of Lucedale passed away Friday, June 11, 2021 at Leakesville Rehab & Nursing Center of Leakesville, MS.  Mr. Purcell was born November 4, 1937 in Mobile, AL. He is the son of the late Jessie A and the late Lillian L (Morrison) Purcell. He married Lettie Dean Denmark.

He was employed by Mobile Water System as a Service Tech for 28 years. He also pastored four churches; Old Pearl Valley in Philadelphia, MS, San Soucie Baptist Church in Bayou La Batre, AL, Sandhill Baptist Church in East Ellisville, MS, and West Highland Baptist Church in Plateau, AL. He was an avid runner and fisherman. He was a member of Luke 4:18 Fellowship in Mobile,AL.

He is survived by his wife: Lettie Dean (Denmark) Purcell and two daughters: Kim Marsh and Valerie (Scott) Johnson; six grandchildren, Melissa(Scott) Miles, Shannon(Ellis) O'Neal, Anndrea Marsh, Scotty Johnson, Charlie Brooke Johnson, Matthew Dapra; Great grandchildren, Gavin Miles, Kaya Miles, Brody Miles, Finley O'neal; Sister-in-law, Mary Collins.

Predeceased by his daughter, Pam Dapra, Sister, Dot Campbell, brothers, Jesse Purcell, Walter Purcell, Charles Purcell.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist, 5115 Brushy Creek Road, Lucedale, MS with Rev. Skip Holland officiating.  Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery.
