Lela "Suzie" Fike Powe, age 64, of Lucedale, MS passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. She is the daughter of the late Charles Fike and the late Shannon Brewer Fike. She married Stacy Powe on April 12, 2003. Lela retired as a gifted teacher for the George County School System. Lela was a supporter of the S.P.I.R.I.T. education program. Lela was also a Key to the City recipient.  She was passionate about education and the arts. She loved spending time watching live music, attending arts festivals and theatre.  She was an incredible and fiercely loyal friend.  Those close to her remember her bright smile and loving heart.  She donated to the charities of The Alzheimer's Institute, American Cancer Society, ACLU, NPR, Jerry's Kids and more.

Left to cherish her memory are husband, Stacy Powe; daughter, Shannon Hilbun; Grandsons: Charlie Hilbun, Brayden Hilbun, and Kash Hilbun; daughter- in-law, Kim O'Kelley; brother, Terry Fike; and several nieces and nephews.

Lela was preceded in death by her father, Charles Fike; mother, Shannon Fike; and brother, Mike Fike.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS.  Burial will be in Fike Family Cemetery, McLain, MS.
