Lettie "Dean" Purcell, age 80, of Lucedale passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024 at home in Lucedale.  Mrs. Purcell was born January 25, 1944 in Leakesville, MS. She is the daughter of the late Torrance Lee and the late Lettie Eunice (Gibson) Denmark. She married Kenneth Guy Purcell, who preceded her in death on June 11, 2021.

She retired from Mobile Area Water and Sewer Systems (MAWSS) billing department after 35+ years. Mrs. Purcell was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughter, Valerie (Scott) Johnson; daughter, Kim Marsh; grandson, Scotty Johnson; granddaughter, Charlie Brooke Johnson; granddaughter, Melissa (Scott) Miles; granddaughter, Shannon (Ellis) O'Neal; granddaughter, Anndrea Marsh; grandson, Matthew Dapra; great grandchildren, Gavin Miles, Kaya Miles, Brody Miles and Finley O'Neal; sister, Janice Holland; brothers, Mahlon (Eloise) Denmark, Carl (Vickey) Denmark Sr., Ralph (Katherine) Denmark and Ronnie (Eula) Denmark.

Predeceased by her daughter, Pam Dapra; brothers, Carson Denmark, Ed Denmark, Harvey Denmark; sister, Tressie Jordan.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 5115 Brushy Creek Road, Lucedale, MS with Rev. Joseph Ladner officiating.  Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery, Lucedale.
