Marie Chelette Johnson, age 78, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024.Marie was a devoted spouse, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was born March 3, 1946, in Grant Parish, a daughter of the late Pete Timothy Chelette and Ethel LeMoine Chelette. Marie was preceded in death by four brothers, Dentis Timothy Chelette, Joe Edward Chelette, Ben Henry Chelette, Paul Amos Chelette; and one sister, Judy Diane Chelette. She enjoyed puzzles, people watching, and spending time with family. Marie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lawrence Johnson Sr.; children: Belinda Louque (Philip), Lawrence "Bo" Johnson Jr. (Holly), Paula Gaudet (Leland), Kyle Johnson (Sharie), Lyle Johnson (Courtney); nine grandchildren (Candice, Kristin, Brittney, Lucy, Brandi, Natalie, Brynn, Waylon, Christian); four great grandchildren (Emma, Lorelai, Walker, Emery); and two brothers, Billy and Jerry. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS. Burial will be in Serene Memorial Gardens, Moss Point on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 1:30 pm.
