Marshall "Shorty" Jackson, age 75, of Semmes, AL passed away at Noland Eastern Shore Long Term Care Facility in Daphne, AL. He went to his eternal home on July 10, 2024. He is the son of Roetta Lanora (Finch) and Cleve Jackson; born January 19, 1949 In Mobile, AL.

He attended Tanner Williams grade school in Wilmer, AL, Hurley grade school and East Central high school in Hurley, MS. He then went to an exceptional school in Pascagoula, MS to learn how to make cabinets. He worked for 20 years making cabinets and was very proud of his work. Due to health problems, he had to retire. He had some disabilities, but that never stopped him. He loved to work and help people as long as he could. He enjoyed walking and talking with people; he loved to be silly and make people laugh. He loved children, babysitting nieces and nephews along with other children, who called him "Uncle Shorty".  He loved growing a garden.

He is survived by three brothers and four sisters: Tommie Laverne Jackson, Cleve (Laura) Jackson Jr, Reginald R (Babette) Jackson, Jane Finch, Jacqueline (Roger) Garbers, Ivan Lorain (Paul) Murrill, Audrey M (Earl) Casey.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cleve and Roetta Jackson; brothers, Henry Grover Jackson, Jack Jackson, Carlton Jackson; sisters, Rosalee Marie Jarman, Edna Earl "Blondie" Wilson; brothers-in-law, Lawrence B Wilson, John William Finch; sisters-in-law, Betty Deloris Goggins Jackson, Mary Beth Spaeth Jackson.

He will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to sisters, Ivan and Jacqueline, along with their husbands, for taking such good care of him for the last 8 years. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Tanner Cemetery, Tanner Chapel Road, Lucedale, MS with Dr. Tommy Mitchell officiating.
