Marshall Edward Pierce, age 94, of Lucedale died Monday, March 21, 2016 at Singing River
Hospital of Pascagoula, MS. Mr. Pierce was born January 23, 1922 in Agricola, MS. He is the
son of the late Bertis and the late Annie (Burns) Pierce. He married Beryl Mary Riviere on
December 16, 1940 at Lucedale, MS. He was predeceased by his wife, Beryl Mary Riviere
Pierce on September 5, 2010.
He served in the Army during World War II and was stationed in Europe during his tour
overseas. He suffered a broken leg in Belgium and was honorably discharged thereafter. He
was employed by Boilermaker Union 112 as a Boilermaker. Marshall took pride in voting during
every election and buying products "made in the USA". His hobbies included gardening fresh
vegetables, working in his yard, and taking care of his many beloved dogs over the years.
He is survived by one daughter: Brenda (Rufus) Parker of Moss Point, MS and two sons:
Charles (Gloria) Pierce of Pascagoula, MS, Gary (Dianne) Pierce of Agricola, MS; two sisters:
Bernice Shaw, Agricola, MS, Joy "Coot" Lee, Hayward, CA; grandson, Timothy E. Parker;
granddaughter, Keisha Ferguson; great granddaughter, Jessica (Kelly) McDonald; great
granddaughter, Courtney Parker; great granddaughter, Katelyn Parker; great granddaughter,
Jenna Parker; great granddaughter, Jordan Parker; and his Truck, Blue Goose.
Predeceased by his daughter, Marilyn Pierce (Stanley) Ferguson, grandson, Christopher Parker
and brother Arthur Pierce
The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Thursday, March 24 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main
St., Lucedale, MS with Bro. Everett Childress officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Baptist
Church Cemetery, Lucedale on Thursday.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 23 from 5:00-8:00pm at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248
