Marvin John "Buddy" Bobinger, Jr., age 87, of Lucedale, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026 surrounded by his family. Buddy was born on July 24, 1939, to Mildred Mary Depreo Bobinger and Marvin John Bobinger, Sr. of Kiln, MS.

Buddy graduated as Salutatorian of his high school class at Kiln High School. He graduated from Pearl River Community College and attended Mississippi State University majoring in Civil Engineering. He worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding in the Engineering Department while owning and operating the Holiday Sands Motel and later on the Holiday Sands Restaurant. He began his lifelong career as a real estate broker in 1970 by starting his own company, Bobinger Real Estate, that he owned until his death. This company listed and sold real estate across South Mississippi. Bobinger Real Estate also owned and managed commercial and residential properties in Lucedale and the surrounding area. Mr. Bobinger was the original owner of Sak-A-Pak, Qwik Car Wash and National Self-Storage in Lucedale. He was a faithful member of St. Lucy Catholic Church for many years.

Through the years, Mr. Bobinger served his community in various capacities; including serving as President of the Lucedale Rotary Club, a member of the George County Hospital Board and a member of the Lucedale Board of Aldermen. While serving as Alderman, Mr. Bobinger negotiated the purchase of a new city hall located on Main Street. He was selected as the 1983 Businessperson of The Year for his outstanding contributions of service to the George County business community. He was also selected to serve as the Grand Marshal of the Lucedale Christmas Parade.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Rouse Bobinger; sons, Trey Bobinger (Lynda) of Madison, MS and Mark Bobinger of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; granddaughters, Caroline Bobinger of Madison, MS and Bexley Bobinger of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sister, Bobbie Saucier of Diamondhead, MS; niece, Buffy Yuratich (Scott) of Bay Saint Louis, MS; nephews, Phillip Saucier (Sue) of Gainsville, GA and Robbie Bobinger (Amelia) of Brandon, MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert "Dewey" Bobinger and his wife, Ann Bobinger; brother-in-law, Harold Saucier; nephew, Roger Saucier.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:45 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 125 Scott Road, Lucedale MS with burial following at Magnolia Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM-11:15 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2026 Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main Street, Lucedale MS.
