Mary Frances Brannan Hurt was born on April 30, 1934 in Lucedale, Mississippi to Verdia and Nancy Brannan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darryl A. Hurt, Sr., her parents, and a grandson, David Hayes Mitchell. She is survived by four children, Darryl Alden Hurt, Jr. (Martha), Melanie Hurt Christian, Allison Hurt White (Guy), and David Brannan Hurt (Tela). Mrs. Hurt went to her Heavenly Home on October 1, 2022.

She is survived by 12 grandchildren, Morgan Hurt Dunaway (Hunter), Stuart B. Hurt (Meagan), Brock Anthony Christian (Lainey), Elliot Cole Christian (Ashley), Logan Wilson Christian, Josh Christian (Stephanie), BB Mitchell (Alli), Guy Hyde White, Mary Gray White, David Austin Hurt (Kaylee), Collin Thomas Hurt (Audrey), and Nicholas Alden Hurt.

She is survived by 12 great grandchildren, Ella Reese Dunaway, Alden Grace Dunaway, Nora Kate Hurt, Claire Christian, Case Christian, Cooper Christian, Ellis Mitchell, Harry Mitchell, Harper Christian, McRee Christian, Collins Christian and Stella Christian.

She was a graduate of Rocky Creek High School and the University of Southern Mississippi. She was a homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was a faithful member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir, WMU, and Sunday school. She always enjoyed serving the Lord, her family and others.

In her community, she assisted in the founding of the Lucedale Fine Arts Club, Gingham Tree Festival, and enjoyed working in the George County Baptist Food Bank for many years.

She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and others she served.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memoriams be made to Samaritan's Purse.

Visitation will be Wednesday October 5, 2022 at the Rocky Creek Baptist Church, Lucedale, MS for 9:30am to 11:00am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00am. Burial will follow in the Rocky Creek Cemetery, Lucedale, MS.
