Mary Elizabeth Tanner, age 82, of Lucedale passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021 at home in Lucedale.  Mrs. Tanner was born March 25, 1939 in Moss Point, MS. She is the daughter of the late Charles R. and the late Winnie E (Pierce) Eklund.  She married John Glenn Tanner on December 24, 1955 he predeceased her on July 24, 2009.

She was a Homemaker. Mrs. Tanner was a member of Tanners Chapel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son: Larry (Renee) Tanner of Lucedale, MS; one brother: Jack Eklund;  son-in-law, Ray Stewart; Six grandchildren, Justin (Vanessa) Tanner, Dillon(Paige) Tanner, Kayla Tanner, Nicole Tanner, Joey Stewart and Emily (Kenneth) Scheffer; Nine Great grandchildren, Baylee Tanner, Reese Lane Stewart, Jaxon Stewart, Jace Tanner, Brayden Tanner, Hallie Tanner, Grace Scheffer, Kaleb Arnold and Alex Scheffer, Three sister-in-law's Dorothy Eklund, Ernestine Tanner and Ruth Tanner.

Predeceased by her daughter, Terri Tanner Stewart, brother and sisters; Walter "Sudie" Eklund, Carl Eklund, Ronald Eklund, Tut Eklund and Katie Duck.

The funeral will be held 2:00 pm on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS with Rev. Dean Box officiating.  Burial will be in Movella Baptist Church Cemetery, Lucedale, MS.

Calling hours will be Monday, August 9, 2021 from 1:00pm-2:00pm at Sigler Funeral Home 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS

Pall bearers will be Justin Tanner, Dillon Tanner, Carl Elkins, Hunter Johnson, Jarrod Cooper and Josh Howard.
