Michael Alan "Mike" Gunter, age 71, of Lucedale, MS died Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Singing River Hospital of Pascagoula, MS.  Mr. Gunter was born May 27, 1952, in Mobile, AL. He is the son of the late Jay Van Gunter and the late Regina Estelle (Childress) Gunter.  He married Retha Jane Nicholson on February 20, 1988.

Mike graduated from the George County High School in 1969. After graduating from Ole Miss, Mike began his accounting career at Arthur Anderson in Houston, TX. Corporate accounting took him around the world, but he eventually came home to George County with his wife Retha to raise their family in the place that was always home. He started The Business Consultant in 1991, where he found his passion for helping small businesses thrive. Those who knew Mike know that he was always unapologetically himself, and his quick wit and infectious laugh will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife: Retha Jane Nicholson Gunter and one daughter: Jayne (Tyler) DuBose of Austin, TX; grandchild, Blake Collins Dubose of Austin, TX; one sister: Stephanie O'Neal of Lucedale, MS and one brother: Todd Gunter of Lucedale, MS.
