Michael Bruce Bond, 77, of Lucedale MS passed away on May 18, 2026 at home. He was born February 26, 1949 in Long Beach, California to the late Waldo Bond and Beverly Abby.

Michael was a loving, strong, and unforgettable man whose life touched everyone around him. He proudly served his country in the United States Army before dedicating part of his career to NASA, where his hard work, intelligence, and determination reflected the kind of man he was every day.

Beyond his accomplishments, he was most known for the love he gave to his family. He loved to cook and some of the best memories shared with him were around the table, where his meals brought comfort, laughter, and togetherness. He was the best grandfather, father, and brother anyone could ask for — always offering wisdom, strength, and unconditional love.

He was a man of resilience and kindness, someone who led with both courage and heart. His presence made people feel safe, loved, and valued, and the impact he made on his family will live on forever.

Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, strength, service, and devotion will never be forgotten.

He leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Suzann Fowler; son, James Bond (Tracy); daughter, Alexis Bond (Daniel); granddaughter, Kirsti Crowder (Gonzo Cruz); grandson, Jake Fowler (Kendall); granddaughter, Rowan Bond; grandson, Remington Hamilton; brother, William "Pat" Bond; brother, James "Skipper" Bond; brother, Robert Bond (Rickalle).

He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen "Jeal" Bond; mother, Beverly Abby; father, Waldo Bond; brother, Rex Bond; sister-in-law, Debra Bond.
