Michael David "Mikey" Sanders, age 65, of Lucedale passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at George Regional Medical Center in Lucedale, MS.  Mr. Sanders was born January 10, 1956 in Natchez, MS. He is the son of the late Edgar "Boots" Tew and the late Betty Sue (Simmons) Tew.

He was employed by Sigler Funeral home for more than 30 years as a cemetery crew member. Mr. Sanders was a member of the Rocky Creek Baptist Church where he was active in Senior Men's Sunday school class, Welcome Center Greeter; made coffee for Sunday school classes; as well as an encourager to every church member.

He is survived by a host of family, friends, and beloved church members that he loved and they all loved him.

Predeceased by his father, Edgar "Boots" Tew, mother, Betty Sue Tew, and brother, Billy James Sanders.

The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 2147 Rocky Creek Road, Lucedale, MS with Dr. Paul Brashier officiating.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, in Lucedale, MS.
